Where can I find practical lessons for Hospitality Studies and Consumer Studies?

A learner's parent, guardian or tutor can assess practical lessons for Grades 10 to 12. Once completed, task marks for Grades 10 and 11 can be captured on OLP. However, Grade 12 practical tasks must be uploaded onto OLP after completion.

To download practical lessons, do the following:
  1. Log on to OLP.
  2. Navigate to the Assessments tab.
  3. In the Download Task column, click the download arrow next to the practical lesson you want to download. Practical lessons are labelled ‘Task’ in the Assessment column. Your practical lesson should now download.
You will find both suggested and final submission dates in the Assessments tab. All practical lessons must be submitted by the final submission date – you cannot submit after this deadline.

Once complete, Grade 12 practical lessons must be uploaded onto OLP with the following information:
  1. the written preparation,
  2. colour photos of the practical lesson, and
  3. the completed mark sheet.
Here are further details on how Grade 12 components of practical lessons are assessed and/or moderated:

Hospitality Studies (HOS)
  1. Practical preparation forms are marked exclusively by Impaq Hospitality Studies markers.
  2. Appearance and End Product are marked by an assessor (e.g., tutor/facilitator/teacher) and moderated by Impaq Hospitality Studies markers.
Consumer Studies (CSS)
  1. Written preparations are marked exclusively by Impaq Consumer Studies markers.
  2. Hygiene and Product Saleability are marked by an assessor (e.g., a tutor/facilitator/teacher) and moderated by Impaq Consumer Studies markers. Please note that component 3.2 (Costing Mark) of Product Saleability must be assessed exclusively by Impaq Consumer Studies markers.
